Oak Tree residents,
As you may be aware, our community has been the target of several car break-ins these past few weeks. While Oak Tree Security is working hard to prevent future incidents, they simply cannot be everywhere at all times.
Please be aware that all vehicles that were targeted, were left parked in driveways, unlocked, with valuables inside.
So, how can you protect YOUR vehicles? Here are some basic tips to protect your vehicles and valuables!
Ñ The absolute best way to protect your vehicles, is to park them inside a closed garage. Vehicle burglars look for easy targets, and as they say, out of sight, out of mind!
Ñ Do not leave anything of value inside a vehicle overnight, ESPECIALLY in plain view through windows. Items such as:
* Sensitive documents
* Expensive Sunglasses
* Electronic devices, etc
Ñ Breaking in to a locked and secured vehicle is time consuming, and risky. The sound of shattering glass, or a potential car alarm, is typically not worth the potential reward. Especially if nothing of value is visible, most would-be thieves will walk away from locked vehicles.
Ñ Well lit exteriors are also great deterrents. Homes where a thief would be easily spotted by a neighbor are typically undesirable targets.
Ñ If you see anything or anyone suspicious, alert security immediately. The sooner they are aware of a potential threat, the sooner they can respond and intervene!
